Want to play with me?

Sunday and I´ve got so much to do that I don´t even know where to start. I need to to a lot of work in the basement before I can call in the carpenter to do the flooring. Walls and celing to paint, and several times on the walls, since the paint just sinks right in. I´ve soon used 80 liters of paint in one sinlge room.

Enough of that

I´ve tried to write some music of electronica/synth/dance kind. Since I haven´t done that earlier, I thought I´d seek some collaboration. So if anybody happens to find your way here and think it could be fun. Please visit this link http://www.blankpage.se/atyourfeet.wav and take a listen. Should you be interested, throw in a comment with your email, or send a mail to the adress under the Contacts tab on our homepage. Of course, I´ll be able to send the various tracks as separate files for you to import into your Cubase or whatever you use. The file is rather large and I´ll soon post a mp3 version to make download a little bit faster. Never mind the synth-solo at the end, I threw that in just for the fun of playing it, it will not make its way to a final product.

Should anybody be interested, I´d be happy to add some keys to one of your recordings too. Free of charge of course. This is a hobby for me and althoug I take it serously enough not to do a bad performance, I still do not expect to make any money on this.

All for now

Collaboration wanted

Thursday and the carpenter was here to do some plastering and some missing batten that have irritated me the last 8 months. All it took was a phonecall and the issue is sorted. How come I´ve waited so long eventhough I´ve been swearing every single day about the wood-sticks lying in my basement. I have no idea why but I guess some things must mature.

Speaking of the basement. My studio is down due to renovation of the basement. All I have now is the KS-4 and the Alesis hooked to my computer. Thought I´d try to do some electronica/synth type of music for a change. My band (basically me and a friend) is progressing very slow, althoug we have a lot of half finished songs to work with. It is really hard to find the time in between day-job, children and renovating. In the meantime I´ll do something different.

If you´re interested in our production so far, please visit

www.blankpage.se

songs are all free to download and spread around.

Tomorrow I´ll call the carpenter again to remove the plastic flooring in our basement. Apparently it contains asbestos, so I guess the bill will be large but for that money, we will get a nice clean tiled floor. I bet it will be worth the kronor we´ll pay.

When my electronica pieces get a bit further, I´ll post them and I thougt some collaboration over the internet would be a great idea. Come back for more details and if you´re interested, drop me a line and I´ll send you the files in a format that you can work with. I run a Sonar DAW but i think a wav-file that can be read in any DAW, Cubase or logic etc, will work.

Another project I´ve been thinking about is to put up videos of how I´ve tackled some of the cover songs we´ve played during the years. Keyboard solos in particular, but also some insigth of voicings and style of my favourite players. The latest is the solo for Vampires, one of the best songs It Bites put out, long time ago. It has an absolutely marvelous solo by one of my all time favourite keyboard players, John Beck. His sounds and his playing is top notch. This solo is rather difficult and you need to work with technique and fingering to pull it off properly. More about John Beck and It Bites to come.

Now I need to go work on a spech to persuade wife that a Roland Fantom G6 is absolutely essential to get. I tried one the other day and I guess that was the final nail in the coffin my Alesis and JV-1010 will be laid in.

Cheers

Hi

first attempt at this. Thought I´d take the opportunity to share my thoughts about music, synthesizers, favourite bands/artists etc. And my view on other things.

I´m currently wrestling the gear below and at the same time trying out new boards for my next purchase. I need to get me one of them workstations, mainly to get better piano and e-piano sounds, and to get a sequenser to bring in the rare live occations. My current set up is

Rhodes MK-80
Korg Wavestation EX
Alesis QS 6.1
Novation KS-4
Roland JV-1010
Oberheim Matrix 1000
Hammond T122 with a Leslie 142 cabinett

That´s about it, plus a number of virtual ones. I´ll get back with my views on these next time

Until then
